Hi!  :laugh2:  :laugh2: are you talking about MCAT in America? As far as I know, PLM has its own Medical College Admission Test in every February or March. National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) is one of the requirements needed in all Philippine Medical Schools. It is already given last October 22 in the Philippines (October 21 in USA).

Thank you for this. I'm actually a graduating student of BS Biology. I believe that I have attained the certain number of units required in PLM. However, it would be very inconvenient for me if I'll be traveling back and forth from my province to Manila. I'm wondering if some of the requirements are not required to be submitted because on my understanding, some requirements are only proof that you are a Manila resident. Do PLM have email or other contacts so that I can directly ask on them? Thank you for your response. :)

Of course you're not entitled to submit your proof of residency in Manila since you're not a Manila resident. Just submit the papers with exception with the voter's certification or requirements pertaining to Manila residency and whatnot.

Hi. I took the NMAT last October 22, 2017. Regarding the new rule of PLMCM, dapat walang fail subject in the undergraduate program? In my case po kasi, during my 1st year sa UST, I failed 2 subjects and btw BSND  program ko. Then I transferred to another school with a new program (pharma), thankfully, no failing grade with my new program. Pwede po kaya i consider yung case ko? I failed 2 subjects in my former program naman, but not in my current program? thanks in advance. :)

It's best if you ask directly from their office. NMAT, MCAT, GWA, and interview naman ang mga determining factors sa PLM so I hope we ace all of 'em! :)

BTW, what's BSND? :)

– Students pay only the misc. fee and med fund. Tuition fee is FREE.

Category II – Half Scholar
– Holder of Manila voter’s ID and with a valid Manila address
– Not a graduate of a public Manila university. This includes private Manila schools  like DLSU and UST, and private/public schools OUTSIDE Manila like UP Diliman and provincial schools
– Students pay only a part of the tuition fee (~P12,000), misc. fee and med fund.

Category III – Full Cost
– NOT a holder of Manila voter’s ID, even if you have a valid Manila address
– It doesn’t matter what school you graduated from.
– Students pay 100% of the tuition fee (~P58,000), misc. fee and med fund.

Category IV  – Summa Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude
– It doesn’t matter what school you graduated from.
– Students pay only the misc. fee and med fund. Tuition fee is FREE.

Category V – Cum Laude
– It doesn’t matter what school you graduated from.
– Students pay only a part of the tuition fee (~P12,000), misc. fee and med fund.

BUT WAIT! At the end of the first year, you have to get a GWA of at least 2.5/4.00 (79-80%) with no failures in order to maintain your category status. Otherwise, you will automatically be placed on CATEGORY 3 (full cost) for 2nd year. You can regain your original category status for 3rd year if you get better grades at the end of 2nd year.

Hi doc. If i may ask, will you be sending your requirements thru mail? Or personally submit it at PLMCM?

I'd probably submit it personally so that i can ask some questions regarding their admission policies as well as the services they offer.

I think you don't have to mention your 1st program? That is you completed the whole BS Pharmacy program without using any of the units from the BSND program to transfer that is.

It's still best to call the office tho :) goodluck!

Hmm. Thank you. Do you have any idea about the deadline of those requirements?

Usually PLM takes applications until the last week of January. I suggest preparing and submitting your requirements early so that you can have your interview earlier in your second semester. Best of luck :)

Thank you. :)

How about the TOR? Is it already necessary to submit this requirement? I am worried because we have slow processing of TOR in our school. :(

Yes. PLM requires a certain number of units for certain subjects. Thus, you need to have your TOR assessed first by their office. :)

If I requested a TOR without encoded 1st semester of 4th year grades, would they accept it? Is TOR needed just for the assessment of the units you have taken or do they also assess your grades? If grades in the 1st semester is not yet required, then i'll be requesting my TOR on Monday. :)

TOR is both for assessment of units and assessment of grades. They have a certain number of units for a certain number of subjects, and they have a required GWA as well (2.25/2.50 or better if I'm not mistaken).

Hi guys. PLM is actually my dream medschool. Kaso disappointing ang score ng NMAT ko. I got only NMAT percentile of 73. I have read in some previous post that PLM, though NMAT cut off score is 45, most likely will only consider 90+ NMAT percentile because of the tight competition.

In this note, can I still apply or I won't bother anymore because they will not consider anyway. My GWA is 1.42 and have been out of school for more than 7 years now. I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Right now I am just completing my requirements to be able to apply to med school. I am considering AUF and SLU if PLM will not be possible anymore. Thanks future MDs.

Hahaha nice. Ako kinulang sa wisdom!  :laugh2:  :laugh2: Pero let's pray nalang

Yes pwede. papakita mo lang proof like registration form mo na inenroll mo yung kulang mong units. Don't worry ako nga 30 units kulang eh. Hahaha Non-Science Undergrad here :laugh2:  :laugh2:  :laugh2: Kelan ka nag pa assess? and How?

God bless to us  :approved:

Hello again. Sorry sa napakalate kong reply. I think early this year pumunta ako para magpaassess ng TOR. Welcoming naman ung mga staff members sa College of Medicine. So bibilangin niya talaga sa harap mo ung incurred units mo per science category. Tapos may mga subject ako sa Psychology (my course) na hindi sure if saan siya magfall na science or vague ung course subject sa TOR so pinabalik ako with Course Description nung mga subjects as proof. An example is Behavioral Statistics, magdala daw ako course description if pede na icount under Elementary Statistics. If equivalent lang yun.
