Daniel Mercado Medical Center Department of Internal Medicine is now accepting applicants for its residency training. This is a 3 year program accredited by the pcp. This is a tertiary hospital located at Tanauan, Batangas which is just an hour drive from Manila. And since you will be with 2nd year residents ( no 3rd year yet), the consultants take their time discussing the cases with you. Relatively benign since the maximum patients in the department is only 30.You will also have enough number of interesting cases, and plenty of time to study. There is only one slot left so If interested, contact 09337204514.

that's offered as a fellowship. You'll need to finish general surgery first. I'm not sure if there's a straight program though.

Greetings!
I’m an emergency medicine resident at Ospital ng Makati and let me explain why Osmak has arguably one of the best ERmed program in the country. Before I started, Osmak is divided into 2 hospitals. The main one is in Bgy. Pembo which is handled by Pedia, IM, OB, surgery and ER residents. The other Osmak is in the Bgy. Bel Air and is solely handled by ER residents. This means that we handle ALL patients coming in whether it be IM, OB, Pedia, Surgery, both Critical and ambulatory. During our duty, we have five consultants that are with us on duties. One IM, surgery, OB, pedia, anesth and ER consultant. That means we have constant guidance and we learn directly from the consultants and all of them are real friendly.
We are a government hospital but the Makati residents are given free medications. Yes FREE. That means we ER residents have the freedom to give the medications without worrying on how to get them.

Makati has always been one of the centers of disaster. And when it does, we are the first in line. The Glorietta bombings, the MRT bombings, the ETON accident, we go directly at the scene. We are the only program that does that. Add the numerous gun shot, stabbings, vehicular accidents that we see everyday. That is why, when we graduate, we have a diploma on emergency medicine and prehospital disaster management. Again, we are the only program that has that.

We are very well compensated, we usually get 22,000++ gross per month, Philhealth every 6 months ( ~13k), SA hazard every 3 months (~16k) and yearly bonus includes 14th month pay(this year i got 66 k no syet). The only hospital to do so. private hospitals will only give 12 k gross per month( training allowance) no added bonus yun.
Duties FOR THE 1ST AND 2ND YR are usually 12 hrs but for 4 days then 2 days 3 days off (ex: night duty is from 6pm to 6am for 4 staright nights then 2 days off. Then am duty 6am to 6pm for 4 staright then 3 days off. If there are no conferences or meetings, you could plan 3 day vacations!
FOR THE 3RD AND 4TH YR RESIDENTS GO ON 24HOURS DUTY EVERY 3 DAYS JUST TO MAKE SURE OF THE CONTINUITY OF PATIENT CARE DURING THE 24 HOURS
1ST AND 2ND YR HANDLE PRIMARY CASES INCLUDING FAST TRACK PATIENTS, 3RD YR MAN THE TRIAGE AD ACUTE PATIENTS AND THE 4TH YRS TAKE CARE OF THE CRITICAL PATIENTS..
Toxicology rotations at PGH. our chairman says if we get the quota of 15 slots, he would incLude a proposed ER medicine training in the US(his was proposed by an ER med osmak graduatekpracticing there).
Sounds to good? It’s because the top 2 medical directors of the hospital are both Emergency Medicine doctors! One of the directors is our chairman. Our ER consulants are the best in the country. Many of them are chairmen, training officers in other ER programs.
Here’s the negatives points on our program: too many patients!!! For a government hospital that gives free medications, u would expect that. There are a lot who tried our preresidency but a lot of them quit because they can’t handle the bulk of the patient’s that come in. Actually, our emergency medicine program is expanding and still have 15 slots. contact our CHIEF RESIDENT DR. CARPIO 09174801552. recruitment is year round. Hindi masyado issue ang heirarchy. Parang pamilya kami lahat dito.
Warning: Our Emergency Medicine program isnt for the faint hearted. Toxic TALAGA!!!
NOW WE ARE ACCEPTING PRE RESIDENTS: PRERESIDENTS WILL UNDERGO 2 WEEKS OF EVERY OTHER DAY DUTY ANd THEN GO ON 12 HOURS DUTY FOR 4 STRAIGHT DAYS THEN 2 DAYS OFF..... Posted Image

Guys, open na raw for application for 2013 first year residency ang St. Luke's QC Institute of Pediatrics. They're getting 15 first years. Every 3 days duty, with from duty status (up to 12NN the next day), with weekends off if preduty on a Sunday. Maraming cases for a private hospital. Even the subspecs. There's also social service patients, so it's like the best of both worlds.

Be part of the fastest growing medical specialty in the world! Be an EMERGENCY MEDICINE SPECIALIST!

The St. Luke's Medical Center Emergency Care Service is now accepting applicants for pre-residency in its 4-year Emergency Medicine Residency Program. There will be 4 slots available for the coming year 2013.

Deadline for submission of requirements for this cycle is September 11, 2012.

Evaluation Exams: September 13, 2012.

Preresidency starts October 1, 2012 to October 31, 2012.

Additional cycles for applications, exams and preresidency are still possible beyond these dates.

We are the first EM residency program to be accredited under the newly organized Philippine Board of Emergency Medicine. Our innovative curriculum offers subsidized certifications in BLS, ACLS, Trauma Ultrasound and soon ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support only offered in Hong Kong and Singapore). Upon reaching your senior (4th) year, the program shall sponsor an EM Clinical Observership abroad which will be for a period of 1 to 3 months. Also, exciting post-residency opportunities for interested applicants - our program is currently the only EM residency that offers a pathway for the 2-year St Luke's Medical Center Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program, which will enable you to be an accredited Stroke Physician. Other postresidency training in the pipeline: Pediatric Emergency Medicine (the proponent of this fellowship is one of our consultants). Lastly, upon graduation from the program, our consultants make it a point to set up job placement and opportunities for you.

The requirements for application, which will be submitted to the Medical Education Office (Ground Floor) with P1000 processing fee, are as follows:

  • Pictures 2x2 and 1x1 (2 each)
  • Curriculum Vitae to include Schools Attended, Hobbies and Interest
  • Transcript of Record (Certified True Copy)
  • Letters of Recommendation from the Dean
  • Letters of Recommendation from two (2) Medical Faculty coming from the same specialty as that being applied for
  • Certificate of Good Conduct (Good Moral Character)
  • Certificate of Class Ranking
  • Medical School Diploma
  • Certificate of Internship
  • Board Rating Result (PRC)
  • Certificate from Board of Medicine(PRC)
  • Photocopy of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) License
  • Certificate of Life Support (ACLS/BLS) Optional

For additional inquiries, call 725-2328 and ask for any EM Resident on duty.

Hi doc! Im interested in applying for Radiology residency. Hopefully you can help me out in applying for the training. What do I need to prepare? Thank you and God Bless. Posted Image

hi there! you may call our medical training office at 6356789 local 6273 to get the complete list of requirements (transcript, diploma, internship certificates, recommendation letters, nbi and police clearances, etc...) once you complete the requirements and fill out the application form, you may submit them to the same office and they will forward your application forms to us. we will then schedule you for an interview and give you a schedule for pre-residency rotation in our department. should you have any questions, you may call the same trunkline number above (local 6177), which will connect you to our office. you may look for the chief resident if you have any other concerns. hope to see you soon!

Good day doctors! I would like to ask if anyone here is a graduate of the rizal medical center IM residency program. I'm currently considering the said residency program and would like to know how good is the IM program of RMC? Any feedback or comment would be most helpful indeed. Thank you very much.
