Hi there! I already applied at MCU last January 3, I'll be having my interview on February 5. I'm hoping to do good in the interview kasi my pre-med course isn't health related.
Good day MALaroya! Great to hear that you applied @ mcufdtmf. BTW, what was you pre med course? When did you graduated?

My interview was done today. Since hindi ako Nursing or health related degree medyo personal yung mga questions sa akin. Mabait naman yung nag-interview sa akin pero very hard to convince and I think mukhang sabit ako dito sa interview. May mga applicants din na matataas ang NMAT score may naka-92 and meron din naka-93.What's the topic for interview?... : )
Just be honest lang throughout sa interview and you'll be fine.

I was also asked the same questions. Although there were additional questions since I applied for the scholarship. Hehe! It was really a great experience. I actually arrived there before 10am (since that was my sched). When I arrived, there were already 3/4 applicants waiting. More came after awhile. I thought that I'll be the 4th to be interviewed but the secretary prioritized the other applicants since they still have class. Although I have my duty @4pm. I was interviewed around 2pm. The good thing is, we were offered snacks and coffee which I really need at that time since I waited for almost 4 hrs. Hehe! Hope to see you then this june. BTW, I'm a graduating BSN student also in MCU.

BTW, the result for admission will be released as early as Feb 28. That was according to them. Regarding the scholarship result, it will be released on a later date since some of the applicants (like me) is just graduating this april, which means that we still have an incomplete grade on our TOR's.
Have you also heard of the contract for the scholarship?

Yup, it will be on the 28th of Feb. Hehe!... There will be a maximum of 10 Full Scholarship. On the event that there will only be few full scholars, they will give some of the slots for partial scholars just to complete the 10. Although there will be other scholarship grants to be given but is still on planning. Hehe! About the nmat score, all I can say is that it's a generous score... Hehe! How bout you? BTW, do you have an fb account?

Yup, it will be of great help if we will be granted with the scholarship. BTW, you are kamandag ni agimat in fb? That's a generous grade. Hehe! With regards to the number of applicants, Maam Vera (secratary) told me that majority of the applicants also applied for the scholarship. Which means that we have to rely on our credentials for the slots. Hehe! But still, the important thing is, we'll be admitted to the med school no matter what. Hehe!

I see... Yes sir, I will take it this july together with med school. That's why I'm taking the inhouse review seriously. And it's also a great thing that I was given a scholarship in a review center because of my grades. Hehe! BTW, what review center did you applied in after grad?
Re: the contract on scholarship. Once you were granted with the slot, the contract says that you have to be a PGI and spend your residency on the same institution. I just forgot if they'll answer the books. Hehe! But that contract is actually better than the offer of other schools (not pointing to a specific med school though), they'll give a generous discount and the likes but the catch is, once you failed and you lost your scholarship, you have to pay for the discounts you got. Which means that you also have to save money just in case.
But still, going back to the contract, I have already thought that once I graduated (in med school), I want to apply in other hospitals as PGI and have my residency there. But knowing the hospital (MCU-FDTMF Hosp), since I spent my internship there, I have seen the competency and quality of the doctors and other health care professionals. So I guess it's not a bad idea. MCU has always been a silent institution but it is continuously producing topnotchers and high percentage of passing rates. (I'm not directly promoting it, just my observation and because I have been a scholar since 1st year there, hehe!) I just want to ask why do you want to be in mcu-fdtmf?

ahh thanks for the info doc,, mahirap din pala maging scholar, hehe. can I ask what is the meaning of PGI? and what if I didnt fail but still lost the scholarship coz i didnt maintain the required grade? will i still pay the discounted tuition? hmm hope not. Wah sa ngayon gusto ko lang makuha yung scholarship hehe. pag nagrant sakin(sana...) dun ako magstudy hard. by the way alam mo poh ba kung ilan ang mabibigyan ng partial scholarship? hiwalay sila sa bibigyan ng full scholarship diba? I really want to go to mcu coz i really like the ambience there hehe
Hehe!... No problem. Whenever I think of the time when I was in my lower years, I can't help but smile and be amazed on how I was able to survive and maintain my scholarship. It was really hard but it helped me a lot to improve and change myself. Being far from my parents (since I'm living in an apartment), it was hard to be away from the comfort of a home. I have to manage my time and schoolworks, with that of house chores. But still, I did it. In terms of my average, hehe, all I can say is that all those hardships was worth it. I always think of doing my best since I would only be a college once, and why not try my best. I just hope that I'll be able to survive this new challenge (entering med school). And there's no turning back.
Let me give you the clear view of the scholarship. There will only be 10 slots (standard). Which means it'll be 10 FULL SCHOLARSHIPS. Although, since there's a chance that only few applicants are eligible to apply for the FULL slot, part of that 10 slot will be given for PARTIAL scholarship. Two partial scholarship will be equal to 1 slot of the 10 FULL scholarship. They are not separate. Ex. if there were only 3 full scholars, the remaining 7 slots will be given to 14 applicants. Hehe!
Re: the contract, as what I have said, once you failed to maintain your grades for the scholarship, you don't have to pay for the discount that was given to you. That rule applies to other med schools. But the thing is, I just don't know if you still have to abide by the contracts of having your PGI and residency training at MCU (which means you're not allowed to work in other hospitals until you finished your residency), even if you only had the scholarship once.
PGI-post graduate internship
Hehe! Yes, that was also the reason why I stopped on transferring to other universities, because of the ambiance in mcu. It's homey and there are lots of trees. Hehe!
AM I RIGHT MAAM CINDERELLALA? Hehe!
Hope I'm helping you woth this infos. Hehe!
