We are currently inviting additional PCOM members residing or working in Las Pinas, Muntinlupa, or Paranaque to join the newly-established PCOM LasPinas-Muntinlupa-Paranaque Chapter. This is started by Dra. Antonia Yamamoto, the chair of the Department of Family & Occupational Medicine at Asian Hospital & Medical Center. Just this evening, we had our very first meeting in Westgate Alabang, graced by the immediate past president Dr. Rustico Jimenez and current VP (Sorry I don't know his name. Hehe!).

For members of other chapters who want to join/transfer, all you need to do is submit a letter to the secretary of your present chapter stating your intention to transfer. If there are sufficient number of members (at least 20 'ata who have petitioned to join the new chapter), there will be induction of members probably by next month.

If you are interested in joining, you may contact me at 09175820346 or 09334901333.

Thanks!

Just attended a meeting at Poquito Mas in Westgate, Alabang with doctors from southern metro manila for an RTD and to form a new chapter of PCOM. Occ. health/med physicians from Paranaque, Muntinlupa and Las Pinas are invited to join in the historic move and may contact Dr. Paul Nierva (09228044640) of the Dept. of Occupational and Family Medicine of Asian Hospital and Medical Center for further info.

Let's keep this thread for updates/ developments on this soon-to-be new PCOM Chapter.

Congrats Abs, sana makasama nyo rin ang DOLE and the OSHNET in your area. The Pampanga Chapter is the first chapter to secure a MOA with DOLE, and now it is a requirement there that any Company MD in Pampanga should be a member of PCOM.

Good idea yan Roy. Perhaps in the next RTD of the group, the guys from Pampanga chapter responsible for the DOLE MOA can be invited over can to give us an idea how this can be worked out.

By the way, pag nagka-taon, next PCOM convention malamang pala sabay yung sa amin and ang Bulacan chapter nyo na ma-aanounce as newest chapters of PCOM. Prepare na din kayo for offering of BOSH/BCOM course. :D

That's a very good idea nga Doc Roy. Do you have any idea how were they able to do it? Meron na ba ibang chapters aside from Pampanga na may MOA with DOLE? Thanks!

Doc Abs, congrats din to the new chapter. btw, I attended also the convention of PAPSHI, sayang di tayo nagkita kita :)

It was drafted by dr arnel syquia when he was president of PCOM Pampanga and implemented by dra tiangha when she succeeded arnel. Minsan invite namin kayo nila arnel at dra tiangha to talk about the MOA. Simulan na rin natin Abs yung Doctors Cooperative idea natin, we drs should help each other ( ganun ung sineshare naming idea nila dra syquia and tiangha) instead of treating each other as competitors. Umpisahan natin sa pagpapasahan ng raket at pagprotect ng interest ng members ng PCOM!
Hi dra wendy, i hope you can join PCOM Bulacan since your very near naman sa area.

Update regarding PCOM Las-Pinas-Muntinlupa-Paranaque (LaMP) chapter:

We had a dinner meeting last night at Leslie's Alabang. The agenda was to finalise the chapter, and create interim officers until the end of the fiscal year (31 Mar 2012). There were few attendees compared to the first meeting last June. A National Board Director was also present last night (sorry, I forgot his name).

We chose our officers (Pres, VP, Sec, Treas, & PRO) but we still don't have the by-laws, and we are not yet recognized by PCOM as a chapter. If approved, it will be the 20th chapter. The officers are aiming to accomplish the by-laws before the Mid-year Convention so that the chapter can be presented & be officially recognized during the convention.

We also discussed how other members can transfer to our chapter. A colleague suggested the idea of downloading a "Request to Transfer" form via Yahoo! Groups site. Obviously, we still need additional members. The more, the merrier.

I don't have any word yet from Dra. Toni Yamamoto (the interim president of the PCOM LaMP chapter) if the chapter is officially recognised by PCOM. As of now, there's no meeting called by Dra. Yamamoto. If she informs me of the next meeting, I will post the details here. Or you may send me a text message (numbers posted above).

Tnx.

Some updates..We are still in the process of "recruiting" more people for the petition to form the chapter. While it seems that we have enough numbers based on the number of attendees in the previous planning meetings, we hope to get more and will appreciate help in this aspect of the campaign. A site (http://sites.google.com/site/pcomlmp) have been set-up as part of the campaign. According to Dr. Yamamoto and Dr. Nierva, we hope to formalize chapter formation this February.

Message from Adhoc Secretary PCOM PaLM (Paranaque-Las Pinas-Muntinlupa) chapter:

Dearest Colleagues,

After much effort and prepartations by your Adhoc Officers, it is with great disappointment to announce that our PCOM PaLM Chapter's chartering and induction scheduled on June 12, 2012 is POSTPONED.

"By technicalities, upon talking with the PCOM officers, we have to postpone our induction. Some members were not released by their chapters due to arrears. We don't have the 20 required."

--- from a text message today relayed by our Adhoc President, Dr. Yamamoto

We appeal to each and everyone to settle/update our local and national dues soonest so we can already proceed with our plans for PCOM PaLM, once we are officially chartered and inducted.

Meanwhile, we are awaiting from the PCOM national the list of PCOM PaLM would-be members who have arrears, so we will be guided accordingly.

We shall communicate with you again. Our sincerest thanks for your patience and kind understanding.

We are still in need of more members for the PCOM PaLM Chapter. :)

For those who wanna transfer from 1 society to another:
1. Make sure you've paid the annual dues for 2012. Otherwise, please settle your arrears either at the National Board office personally or thru their Chinabank current account.
2. Fill-up a transfer form (can be downloaded from PCOM homepage) and submit it either to your component chapter or to the National Office.

For those who wanna join (& not a member of another component society):
1. Fill up a membership form
2. Pay the annual dues

The National Board will inform us if there are still other members who want to join. As of now, we still lack the minimum number of members to have the chartering & induction.

Thanks & God bless!

PCOM PaLM is a recognised component society of PCOM. For those who are interested in transferring, you can fill up the Transfer Form (can be downloaded at the PCOM website) & submit it to your component society for approval. Component society fee is worth P250.

For those who want to join (those who just finished the BCOM courses), you can fill up the PCOM membership form at the office and state that you will be joining the PaLM chapter.
